Why 2025 Has Been So Hard — And How 2026 Offers a Fresh Start
If you’re reading this with weary bones, tired eyes, or a soul that feels like it’s been through the emotional equivalent of a marathon — you’re not alone.
2025 has been one of those years. The kind that doesn’t just test us — it strips us down, reshapes us, and asks us to surrender pieces of ourselves we didn’t even realise we were still holding onto.
So many of us I know — other mums, women in my community, friends, clients, sisters — have been exhausted. Depleted. Feeling like our spark has dimmed rather than shined. Not because we’re weak… but because this year has literally asked us to digest, process, let go, and heal — all at once.

A Year That Asked Too Much
Globally, 2025 has thrown more at us than most of us expected:
-
Economic uncertainties continued to shake stability for families everywhere — rising costs, pressure on household budgets, and the emotional weight of financial insecurity.
-
Climate upheavals — fires, floods, heatwaves and extreme weather events — have tested our resilience and reminded us how vulnerable we are to forces bigger than ourselves.
-
Political polarisation and global tensions have kept collective anxiety high, making many people feel unsafe or uncertain about what the future holds.
-
Ongoing health concerns — lingering pandemics, mental health struggles, burnout — have made daily life feel heavier than usual.
-
Community fractures and social disconnect have left many of us craving connection, compassion, and simple human support.
It’s no wonder we’ve felt stretched thin. We haven’t just been living this year — we’ve been surviving it.
And yet — here’s something deep and meaningful beneath all that chaos: 2025 was a Universal Year 9 in numerology.
What a 9 Universal Year Really Means
In numerology, every year vibrates with a universal number that shapes the collective energy we all move through — whether we feel it consciously or subconsciously.
A Universal Year 9 is all about:
✨ Completion
✨ Endings
✨ Letting go
✨ Releasing what no longer serves
✨ Purification and inner transformation
9 is the final number in the numerological cycle — it represents closure. It’s the year of cleaning house — emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and even materially.
This is the year where life pushes us to:
-
finish chapters we’ve been dragging out
-
heal wounds we ignored
-
make peace with past heartbreaks
-
shed beliefs that were never truly ours
-
release relationships, jobs, patterns, or roles that no longer match who we’ve become
It’s a sacred and deeply transformative number — but that doesn’t mean it feels easy. In fact, its peeling-back-of-the-layers energy can be raw, painful, exhausting, and draining.
That’s why so many of us have felt dimmed this year rather than lit up.
Because 2025 wasn’t about building — it was about clearing space.
And That’s Why 2026 Feels So Different
Now, as we stand on the threshold of 2026, we move into a Universal Year 1 — the first number of a brand-new nine-year cycle.
A 1 Year is the energy of:
🌱 New beginnings
🔥 Fresh starts
🚀 Bold steps forward
👣 Personal leadership and action
💭 Vision, dreams, initiative
Where 2025 asked us to release and reflect, 2026 asks us to start again.
Not lightly.
Not hesitantly.
But with courage.
It invites us to step forward with intention, to plant new seeds, and to embrace change — even if it feels challenging, even if we’re still carrying some remnants of exhaustion from the past year.
In a 1 Year, life doesn’t just invite us to begin anew — it expects it. If we resist, life nudges us harder. If we doubt, life shows us where the next step already is.
And the choices we make now — the paths we start walking, the shifts we commit to — will shape not just this year, but the next nine.
Why I Created The Cranky Mum's Recovery Club
As a mum who has felt this year just as deeply as you, I didn’t want anyone to step into 2026 feeling alone, overwhelmed, or burnt out.
We’ve spent so long putting everyone else’s needs first — kids, partners, work, home, plates that never stop spinning — that it’s easy to forget that we matter too.
So this year, I made something I’ve never created before:

👉 The Cranky Mums Recovery Club
A space designed to support YOU — the worn-out, brilliant, beautiful mum who needs practical tools, soft support, and emotional grounding as you step into a new year of possibility.
Plus we don't get together officially until February after the kids are back to school and the weird January 'in limbo' vibe is over BUT our early bird pricing does have to end next week!
This club is not about perfection.
It’s not about having it all figured out.
It’s about connection, courage, renewal — and feeling supported as you make the shifts that matter most for you and your kids.

A Heartfelt Invitation
To every mum reading this:
You survived 2025.
You felt the weight.
You learned the lessons.
You grew — even if it didn’t feel like progress at the time.
And now, with 2026 coming at us at the speed of light, you have permission to dream again — to take bold steps, to prioritise yourself, and to move forward with intention… not exhaustion.
This isn’t just a new year.
It’s a new beginning.
And I’ll be walking into it with you.
With love,
Alisha 💛
