Chocolate Smoothie/Pudding!

SO this smoothie is to die for (and my kids love it) but it's also awesome left overnight and has become my new favourite breakfast when I do this simply because it reminds me of chocolate yogos that I used to eat as a kid! Remember those? It's just the chia seed content that gives it the 'pudding like' consistency as chia seeds are full of extremely beneficial mucilaginous fibre that absorbs liquid and the longer you leave them, the more they absorb! Full of good fats and very tasty to boot!

Ps. I rarely share it with the kids when it's become like a pudding the next day, they just have to miss out!


Chocolate Smoothie/Pudding recipe - serves 3-4 (or two with leftovers for next day healthy chocolate yogo!)

1.5 large bananas (frozen pieces work best)
2 dessertspoons of  peanut butter
2 dessertspoons of coconut oil
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
2 dessertspoons of Nutraorganics Cacao Choc thriving protein powder (or you could use 1 tablespoon of cacao powder and 1 -2 tablespoons of maple syrup or raw honey to sweeten)
4 cups of almond milk (or your preferred milk)

Whizz in high powered blender, have some for brekkie one day and the rest as chocolate 'yogo' the next day!


OR Pudding!

Hi Shannon, Not sure of mason jar size exactly but it’s your standard one that holds about 2 cups. And no you won’t alter the nutritional content of your chia seeds by grinding them. They can even be purchased in ground form (chia meal) but it’s much better if you can yourself as you are doing! :)

What size mason jar do you have?

Also do I ruin the nutritional content of the chia seeds by blitzing them first – my daughter doesn’t like the texture of the chia seeds in it but will happily eat it when they are blitzed first.

this sounds amazing! Do you think it would be weird with crunchy peanut butter? It’s all I have in the pantry and I want to make it now!
